Principal's Report

Moderation Process for Written Assessments

Our dedicated teachers are currently engaged in the moderation processes for written assessments.  This critical activity ensures consistency and fairness in the evaluation of student work across all classes.  By collaborating and reviewing each other’s assessments, our teachers can maintain high standards and provide valuable feedback to our students.

Collegial Planning Half Days

In preparation for the next term, our teachers are participating in collegial planning half days.  These sessions allow our staff to work together, share best practices, and develop comprehensive plans that will enhance the learning experience for our students.  This collaborative approach is essential for fostering a supportive and effective teaching environment.

Parent Teacher Interviews

We are currently conducting Parent-Teacher interviews, which provide an excellent opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress and address any concerns with their teachers.  These interviews are crucial for building strong partnerships between the school and families.  While many interviews are taking place now, some classes will continue their interviews into Term 2 to ensure that all parents have the chance to engage in these important conversations.  If you have not yet booked your Parent-Teacher interview, please contact your Year 3-6 Teacher via the class email.

Report Card Survey

School reports are important part of our academic communication process.  They assist parents to stay engaged in their child’s schooling.  They help parents to set and maintain high expectations, talk to their child about school and support and encourage their learning.

We are seeking your valuable input through our Report Card survey to make our report cards more user-friendly – detailed information in previous newsletter.

There were some issues with the previous link, however this has been rectified and the link is now working – see blow.

Report Card Review 2025

Staffing Updates

We are please to announce that Ms Tanika Maguire will be returning from maternity leave to partner with Ms Jo Wilkinson on Class 1W.  Ms Maguire will commence in Term 2 and will be teaching Mondays and Fridays, while Ms Wilkinson will teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We are confident that this partnership will ensure that the needs of our students are well catered for.  Both Ms Maguire and Ms Wilkinson are dedicated and experienced educators who are committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for your children.

Additionally, Ms Corinna Gilliland will continue her excellent work teaching 4G for the remainder of the semester.  Ms Gilliland has been doing a fantastic job with Year 4 and we are grateful for her dedication and hard work.

Cross Country Event

Unfortunately this event has been postponed until Thursday 3 April 2025 due to the weather.

We encourage all families to come and support our students as they participate in this exciting event.

School of the Year Competition

Some of you may have heard my interview with breakfast hosts Sam and Ash on 91.1 HOT FM last Friday.  I was so impressive that Sam and Ash actually came to the school to speak to the students.  They are promoting the School of the Year competition running for the remainder of this week.  It is very simple to vote for our school and I have provided a link here.  If we are successful, we can win $10,000!  Our school plans to use the money to assist families with costs associated with school swimming and surf skills

YOU CAN VOTE ONCE / DAY, EVERYDAY

VOTING CLOSES TOMORROW!!!!
