10-12 Years Noosa District Swimming Trials 2024
Congratulations to everyone who represented the Eumundi Swim Team at this year’s Noosa District 10–12 years Swimming Trials held at the Noosa Aquatic Centre, Sunshine Beach on Tuesday 13 February. Once again, the level of skill and determination displayed was fantastic to see by all that took part. There were 10 competing schools and Eumundi came an impressive third overall. We had some great individual results in the pool as well, with a number of our swimmers receiving 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons
The 13 person Eumundi team consisted of:
Girls: Laurel M, Malani B, Hannah G, Ziva F, Olivia W, Emma M, Emily B and Indie L.
Boys: Jack, Henry F, Sidney M, Eddie D and Jack C.
Standing out amongst the competitors for Eumundi was Laurel M and Henry F. In addition to being presented with the Noosa District ‘11 Years Boys Age Champion’ award, Henry also qualified for selection in the Noosa District Swimming Team.
Another highlight was Laurel breaking the Noosa District Swimming record in the 11 Years Girls 50m Butterfly event. She was also selected in the Noosa District Swimming Team.
In addition, we had some terrific overall results in the pool from more students listed below:
- 12 Years Boys - Sidney M (1st in 100m breaststroke, 2nd in 50m breaststroke, 4th in 50m butterfly and 5th in 50m backstroke)
- 12 Years Boys - Jack C (3rd in 100m backstroke)
- 11 Years Boys - Henry F (1st in 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 5th in 50m backstroke).
- 12 Years Girls – Hannah G (5th in 50m breaststroke)
- 12 Years Girls – Ziva F (5th in 100m freestyle)
- 11 Years Girls – Laurel M (1st in `100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 2nd in 100m butterfly, 3rd in 100m freestyle, 4th in 50m backstroke and 5th in 50m freestyle
- 10 Years Girls – Emma M (4th in 50m backstroke)

Many thanks to Mr Kross for his role as our school’s Team Manager on the day as well as our Eumundi official Ms Amber V and our parents/caregivers who kindly gave up their time to attend the carnival.
2024 Sunshine Coast Regional 10-12 Years Golf Trials
Another achievement to be recognised is that of Anthony R. Anthony recently attended the Sunshine Coast Regional 10-12 Years Golf Trials. He played quite skilfully and for the second year in a row gained selection in the Sunshine Coast Golf team to compete at the State Championships in May. Well done and best of luck!
2024 Sunshine Coast Regional Swimming Trials
As previously mentioned, congratulations to Laurel M and Henry F who participated at the regional swimming trials on 6 March. Both swimmers competed strongly in the pool with Laurel going on to qualify for the Sunshine Coast swimming team with Henry only missing out on qualifying by the closest of margins. Good luck to Laurel when she competes at the State Championships on 26-28 March.
10-12 Years Noosa District Sport Trials 2024
Congratulations to all of the Eumundi students who have been selected to represent the Noosa District in their respective sports so far this year. I am still waiting for a full list of these students so that when we recognise this achievement no one is overlooked. Watch this space!
2024 Eumundi State School Sporting Dates
- Thursday 21 March (Term 1, Week 9) - Yr 3-6 Cross Country / P&C Colour Run
Information relating to our Year 3-6 Cross Country event has been sent out to parents earlier this week including the program of events.
- Wednesday 12 June (Term 2, Week 9) - Yr 3-6 800m events (middle/afternoon sessions 12.10 to 2.30pm)
- Thursday 13 June (Term 2, Week 9) - Yr 3-6 Athletics Carnival (all day). (Term 2, Week 10).
- Tuesday 18 June (Term 2, Week 10) - P-2 Jnr Sports Day (9.30am to 12.50pm). (Term 2, Week 10).

18 April: South East Queensland Football Championship (for selected Year 5 & 6 students)
03 May: Noosa District 10-12 Years Cross Country Trials (for selected students)
23 July: Noosa District 10-12 Years Track & Field Trials (for selected students)
