Principal's Report
The first term of the year is almost over and it has been a terrific term at Eumundi State School.
Next week has a lot to offer with the school cross country and the Crazy Colour Day P&C fundraiser. Please ensure you check the schedule in this newsletter for both events. It would be great to see as many parents as possible here to support the children. At Eumundi, we love to have all parents attend as many events as possible. Students will need to have a signed parental permission to be allowed to participate in the Crazy Colour Day event. Please refer to the email sent earlier this week as a reminder for parental permission.
For the Crazy Colour Day, it will be a free dress day for all children in Years Prep to Year 2. We would like all children in these year levels to come in the clothing that they will run in and be coloured. At the conclusion of the event, students will be washed down and will then get changed into free dress for the remainder of the day. Please ensure your child brings a change of clothes and a towel.
For students in Years 3 to 6, they will need to wear their sports colours to school so that they can compete in the school cross country. During first break, at the end of the cross country event, they will be asked to change into their Crazy Colour Day clothes so that they can participate in the run. At the end of the event, they will be washed down and will get changed back into their cross country clothes. Please ensure they pack what they need for the day and bring a towel.
Our P&C needs your support
On Tuesday 26th March, 9am the P&C AGM will be held. We strongly encourage parents to consider nominating for the executive roles. If you are interested but have some questions, please feel free to give me a call at school or arrange a meeting time to discuss what is involved. It is vital that the school and the P&C executive have a strong and trusting working relationship to always strive for the best outcomes and experiences for our students. Should there be no executive, then the P&C will cease for a period of time whilst the school assumes responsibility in caretaker mode to look after the essential operations of the P&C. The ultimate goal is to have an executive to support the fantastic parental volunteers that help facilitate the opportunities for our students. Please do not hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions.
The amazing Linda Bogle
Our amazing HOSES, Linda Bogle, who we all love and appreciate, has been seconded to Regional Office to assist with supporting all schools in our region. Linda has amazing knowledge in her role and as such will be with Regional Office for the remainder of this semester. Linda will be missed at our school on a day to day basis but will still be supporting Eumundi as well as all schools in this time. I congratulate Linda for being given this deserved opportunity. For the remainder of this term, Mrs Goodall will be acting HOSES at our school.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Close communication between the classroom teacher and parents always leads to better student outcomes. Please make the time to book a parent teacher interview with your child’s teacher . Details of how to do this have been emailed home to all families.
Parking
I acknowledge how difficult it is to get a park close to school especially on a Wednesday. However, I respectfully ask that everyone parks safely as per the signed area and do not encroach on the crossing area or double park. This is in the interest of all students safety.
Over the mid semester Easter holiday, I wish everyone a safe and relaxing time. We look forward to seeing all families back at school at the start of Term 2 on April 15.
As always, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child’s teacher or the school office should you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards
Anthony
