2025 Eumundi SS Year 3-6 Inter house Swimming Carnival
Our annual school swimming carnival for ALL Year 3 to 6 students will be held on Tuesday 18 November (Term 4, Week 7) at the Eumundi Aquatic Centre. Students will be given opportunities to nominate in the following swimming events:
25m Freestyle, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Backstroke, 25m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.
PLEASE NOTE: Less confident swimmers may choose to participate in one or more of the 25m swim events (Freestyle, Breaststroke or Backstroke only) with a supplied kickboard or pool noodle to increase participation on the day and still earn points for their sport house. Students not currently in a sport house will be placed in one shortly.
Swimming Carnival Nominations
All students will need to nominate for their swimming events via a paper nomination slip that will be completed at school with their class teachers. Nominations will need to be completed by Thursday 6 November (Week 5). Please note: Students will NOT be able to change their events once nominations have been received. It is strongly suggested that parents discuss which events they feel their child/children would like to participate in.
Important information for nominations:
- Students Born 2017 will be doing 25m ‘Timed Final Events ’ONLY with the choice of swimming in freestyle, breaststroke or backstroke. (No butterfly event for this age group)
- If wanting to be eligible for age champion points, students born 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016 MUST nominate in 50m ‘Timed Final Events’ in one or more strokes (i.e. freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly).
- Top 3 place getters for each age group’s events will be based on the fastest times
- Students born 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016 NOT wanting to nominate in 50m events will instead be able to nominate in 25m swim events and still earn house points through their participation.
- Students can only nominate for ONE distance they want to swim for their desired stroke/s e.g. 50m Freestyle OR 25m Freestyle (not both). Please note: Students will NOT be able to change their events once nominations have been received.
- The Eumundi Swimming Carnival will also be used to help select our Eumundi Swim Team for the District Swim Carnival early in 2026 (only students born in 2014, 2015 and 2016 will be eligible for selection - they MUST be swimming in a 50m event to be considered).
