10-12 Years Noosa District Cross Country Trials 2025

On Friday 9 May Noosaville State School once again hosted the Noosa District Cross Country Trials. This year’s event attracted hundreds of competitors across affiliated schools within our District. Eumundi was represented by 22 students in the 10, 11 and 12 year old age groups. The courses provided a challenge for all runners. 10 year old runners needed to complete a 2km course, while 11 and 12 year old runners were required to run a 3km course.

Congratulations to Ava M, who finished in fifth place in the 10 year old girls division. Ava  has now qualified to represent Noosa District at the 2025 Sunshine Coast Regional Cross Country Trials held in Noosaville on Tuesday 3 June. A big well done also to Zoey B who finished eighth in the 10 year old girls division.

Any student who would like to know their overall result/time from their race can come and see Mr Brinkworth.

Special thanks needs to Mr Kross and Mr Midgley for their respective involvements in what was a great day of competition.

Finally, the Eumundi team was represented by the following students:

Girls – Ava M, Zoey B, Lea B, Sami D, Fern S, Ivanka H, Violet H and Ayva R.

Boys – Harlen B, Cooper D, Iver H, Finn W, Tadhg M, Mason W, Luke L, Eddie D, Jesse L, Flynn N, Jack H, Sidney F, Jack C and Hunter W.

Year 3 to 6 Athletics Carnival

This week and next week all nominated Year 3 to 6 students will have an opportunity to participate in pre-carnival athletics trials for high jump, long jump, shot put and the 200m sprint, which will be held in addition to their weekly PE lessons that are also focusing on developing track and field skills.

These trials allow us to select students from each house to go in the Championship events during the Year 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival, which will be held on Friday 20 June. Please note, that in long jump, high jump and shot put, there is a Team event on the Carnival day for those not in Championship events. These events have more points allocated to them than Championship events.

The format for each event is as follows:

  • Long Jump – Usually up to 12 students per age group are selected to go in the Championship event.
  • High Jump – Usually up to 8 students per age group are selected to go in the Championship event.
  • Shot Put – Usually up to 12 students per age group are selected to go in the Championship event.
  • 80m/100m - everyone runs in the heats on Carnival day leading up to the sprint finals.
  • 200m – Strictly 8 students per age group from each house are selected to go in the Championship event. Fastest 8 times are the basis of selection in this event.
  • 800m - everyone is encouraged to run in the Championship event is scheduled before the carnival on Wednesday 18 June (approximately 12.10 to 2.30pm).
