Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of another vibrant and productive term, I’d like to take a moment to share some of the wonderful things happening across our school community.
Learning Walks and Talks
One of the highlights of my term has been the opportunity to engage in Learning Walks and Talks with our students. Joined by Mr Kross or Ms McDonagh, we’ve completed 14 of these walks so far this term. It has been a genuine pleasure to speak with students about their learning journeys—how they are challenging themselves, setting goals, and monitoring their progress. Their insights and enthusiasm are a testament to the strong learning culture we are building together.
Annual Implementation Plan (AIP)
This year, our Annual Implementation Plan focuses on two key priorities:
- Advancing Reading and Writing
- Sharpening Visible Learning
Our staff are engaging deeply with current research to support these goals. In reading, we are exploring Scarborough’s Reading Rope, which highlights the many strands that contribute to skilled reading. We are also drawing on Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction to refine our teaching practices and ensure every student is supported to succeed.
Report Cards
At the end of this term, you will receive your child’s mid-year report card. This is a valuable opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth and effort. You may notice some updates to the report format this year. These changes are designed to make the reports more reader-friendly and accessible for parents and carers, while still providing meaningful insights into your child’s progress. We encourage you to read through the report with your child—discuss their achievements, reflect on their effort marks, and set goals for the next semester.
Sports Carnivals
Our sports carnivals are in full swing! Congratulations to all students who participated in the Junior Carnival last week—your energy and sportsmanship were outstanding. We’re looking forward to the Senior Carnival this week and can’t wait to see more students giving their best and cheering each other on. Well done to all who have competed and those who have achieved personal or event wins!
2026 Enrolments
It’s time to start thinking ahead—enrolments for the 2026 school year are now open! If you have a child starting Prep or know someone who does, please contact the school or visit our website for enrolment packs and information. We’re excited to welcome our next generation of learners.
Eumundi on Show
Mark your calendars! Our annual Eumundi on Show Open Day and integration celebration will be held on Thursday, 19th June. This is a wonderful opportunity for current and future families to see our school in action. We warmly invite all parents, carers, and community members to join us for this special event.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. We look forward to finishing the term strong and celebrating all the achievements of our students.
Warm regards
Rob

BUNYA CLAIMS FIRST PLACE AFTER PREP TO YEAR 2 SPORTS DAY
On Thursday 12 June our Prep to Year Two Eumundi students came to school dressed in their team colours, ready for a day which included a lot of cheering, running, jumping, throwing and team games.
Our mini mixed teams of Banksia, Bunya, Cedar and Wattle boys and girls worked together within their house groups to earn as many points as possible while completing eight different rotational activities. At the end of the day, our Prep to Year Two students from Bunya house ran, threw and jumped their way to victory, with Cedar house finishing a reasonably close second. The overall points tally was as follows:
1ST Bunya = 916 pts
2ND Cedar = 878 pts
3RD Banksia = 735 pts
4TH Wattle = 687 pts
It is also necessary to acknowledge our Year 6 students who were fantastic in the way that they ran their respective activities throughout the day. It was great to get such positive feedback from parents and staff highlighting how impressed they were with the general level of responsibility and organisation displayed by these boys and girls. A huge thank you to all Eumundi staff who helped to ensure everything ran successfully. Many thanks as well to all parents, grandparents, families and friends who came to spectate and cheer on Eumundi students.
